Hello World

This is my very first blog post on my new website (ratan.dev). I've been holding on to this domain for a couple of years now but never got around to making use of it until now.

I'd like to give a shoutout to andrewkelley.me for this blog template. I've always been on the lookout for the perfect minimalist blog template, and I think I've finally found the one! It's just a few HTML files on a dark background. It's as minimalist as a blog website can be, and I absolutely love it! The code is published here.

As of writing this, there is no specific intention of what sort of stuff I'd like to publish on this blog. It can either act as a series of short blogs, similar to blogs published by cassidoo.co, or long-form posts related to data engineering. I haven't decided right now—at this point, I'm just glad that I have a blog all set up for me to document and share useful information.

While I do make use of LLMs to assist in software development, I'll be using none of it to write on this blog. The ability to write and form coherent sentences is too precious to me, and I'm very concerned that using LLMs would degrade this basic ability to document my thoughts.
